PALMDALE, Calif., Aug. 11 -- The city of Palmdale issued the following news release:
WHAT: "Moon Tree" planting at Palmdale's Thursday Night on the Square (TNOTS) event.
WHEN: Thursday, August 13 - 6:30 pm.
WHERE: Poncitlan Square, 38315 9th Street East, Palmdale (between Avenues Q-9 and Q-10.) "Moon Tree" planting will be held outside the AERO Institute building, on the southwest corner of the Square.
WHO: Astronaut Vance Brand; Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford; NASA Director of Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale Steven Schmidt; City of Palmdale staff.
WHY: To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. A "Moon Tree" is a sycamore tree that was germinated from trees ...
