People from Charlotte believe that once you've visited their vibrant city you can't help but want to live there. It's easy to see the attraction of this cosmopolitan city that offers rich culture, outdoor adventure, and a number of prospects for healthcare travelers.
Thomas Polk, the uncle of U.S. President James K. Polk, settled Charlotte in 1755 when he decided to build his home along a busy Native American trading path. Early in the 18th century, these trading paths brought new residents to the area.
