Article: EARLY BIRDS: MOUNT OREAD SCHOLARS TO MAKE SYMBOLIC WALK UP HILL ON AUG. 17 AT UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS

LAWRENCE, Kan., Aug. 13 -- The University of Kansas issued the following news release:

A flock of more than 170 new Mount Oread Scholars at the University of Kansas will make a symbolic walk up the hill known as Mount Oread at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

Kathryn Nemeth Tuttle, associate vice provost for Student Success and a published historian, will lead the 13th annual walk, providing commentary about campus history and pointing out campus landmarks along the way. The walk begins outside the south end of Memorial Stadium near the scoreboard and ends at the Spencer Research Library.
