Iceland may turn out to be the hottest inaugural market for electric vehicles as electricity literally spews from the ground in the form of geothermal steam-driven generators.

"Every socket you plug into is 100 percent sustainable energy," says industry consultant Teitur Torkelsson, founder and managing partner of FTO Sustainable Solutions, which produces the annual Driving Sustainability international conference to be held Sept. 14-15 in the capital of Reykjavik.
