MONTEREY, Calif., Aug. 16 -- The U.S. Navy issued the following press release:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen was inducted into the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Hall of Fame during an all-hands ceremony Aug. 11.

Mullen, an NPS graduate who received his master's degree in operations research in 1985, is the school's eleventh Hall of Fame inductee and the first alumnus to serve as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Upon receiving the award, Mullen was humbled and at a loss for words.
