ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 17 -- Michael J. Simpson, Arlington, Texas, has developed intraocular lenses. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,572,007 on Aug. 11.
The patent has been assigned to Alcon Inc., Hunenberg, switzerland.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In one aspect, the present invention provides a diffractive ophthalmic lens (e.g., a diffractive intraocular lenses) that includes an optic having an anterior surface and a posterior surface, where the optic provides a far focus.
