OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & Health Administration rules require employers to provide employees protection for the head, eyes, ears, arms, hands, wrists, fingers, legs, feet and toes.

A typical adult has 16.1 to 21.5 square feet of skin, which is 2 to 3 millimeters thick and in pigmentation may be white, jet black, brownish, or have a red or yellow tinge.
