TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Aug. 26 -- The University of Alabama issued the following news release:

Dr. Philip Westbrook, assistant professor of educational leadership, policy and technology studies at The University of Alabama, has been named director of the UA Blackburn Institute, a preeminent student leadership agency on campus.

Westbrook, who holds an Ed.D. in educational leadership/school administration from Vanderbilt University, has been a member of the UA College of Education faculty since 2007. Prior to that, he worked as assistant superintendent of the Jasper City Board of Education and as principal of Maddox Middle School in Jasper. He received his undergraduate degree from ...
