RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 26 -- Gov. Tim Kaine, D-Va., issued the following press release:

Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced appointments to the following boards and commissions:

James B. Alcorn, as Deputy Secretary. Alcorn, whose appointment was effective August 14, was previously the Confidential Policy Advisor for the State Board of Elections beginning in February, 2006. He previously worked as campaign finance officer for the Tim Kaine for Governor campaign and as a law clerk for the New Hampshire attorney general.
