STONY BROOK, N.Y., May 8 -- The State University of New York at Stony Brook issued the following news release:

The Stony Brook Alumni Association announced today that it has selected four Stony Brook University graduates as recipients of the 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Awards, the Association's highest honor. The recipients will be honored at a special ceremony and dinner on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the University's Charles B. Wang Center.

This year's honorees include: Robert J. Frey, (BS '80, PhD ' 87), Rear Admiral Dr. Steven K. Galson, (BS '78), Sally A. Lynch, (BS '82, PhD '88), and Dr. Margaret M. McGovern, (BS '78).
