Article: JACKSONVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY HOLDS FIRST SCRIMMAGE ON AUG. 15

JACKSONVILLE, Ala., Aug. 15 -- Jacksonville State University issued the following news release:

Head football coach Jack Crowe ran the Gamecocks through a 94-play scrimmage that lasted just over two hours on Saturday in the first scrimmage of the preseason.

Crowe said he would use Saturday's scrimmage to begin putting together the depth chart for the season-opener at Georgia Tech, which is less than three weeks.

"We tried to get everybody some work and try and take a measurement of who could be ready to play against Georgia Tech," said Crowe. "There is a separation starting to happen, some of it is physical, some of it is emotional and some of it is conditioning."
