Article: WILLIAMSON COUNTY ADOPTS BUDGET, SETS TAX RATE

GEORGETOWN, Texas, Sept. 2 -- Williamson County issued the following news release:

On August 25, the Williamson County Commissioners Court adopted a general fund budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year of $121,216,314.77. The adopted budget was less than the county's current amended budget of $123 million. This budget includes substantial increases in the cost of indigent health care and employer paid health care, some of which were offset by reductions by various department heads and elected officials including an approximate $1 million reduction by Sheriff James Wilson.
