ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 5 -- Kurt Andersson, Tyreso, Sweden, has developed a percussive device for a rock drilling machine. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,581,599 on Sept. 1.
The patent has been assigned to Atlas Copco Rock Drills AB, Orebro, Sweden.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A percussion device with a reciprocating percussion piston, includes a first chamber that can be pressurized for forward driving of the percussion piston and a second chamber that can be periodically pressurized for back-driving of the percussion piston.
