Article: Panel seeks ways to get out FASD message

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder is one of the leading causes of developmental disabilities in Canada - and it is 100 per cent preventable.

More than 50 people gathered at the Riverbank Discovery Centre Wednesday for the inaugural lunch and learn discussion on FASD - a one-hour session aimed at pooling the region's resources for those affected by the disorder.

Hosted on International FASD Awareness Day by the Brandon Interagency FAS/FAE Committee Inc., chair Kim Akins says she hopes the event instilled the same sense of optimism among other participants as it did for her yesterday.
