CHARLESTON HARBOR, S.C., Sept. 11 -- Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum issued following the news release:
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will honor Patriot Day beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009 aboard the USS Yorktown. This reverent event will serve as a memorial to the 2,998 who lost their lives on that day as well as the more than 6,291 injured.
At precisely 8:46 a.m., the exact moment the first tower of the World Trade Center was struck by the hijacked jetliner, members of the Mount Pleasant Fire Department's Honor Guard will begin a procession down the pier to the USS Yorktown.
