GENEVA, Sept. 15 -- Daniel Purkis, Great Britain, has developed a switching device for, and a method of switching, a downhole tool.
The patent has been assigned to Petrowell Ltd., Kirkton Avenue Pitmedden Road Industrial Estate Dyce Aberdeen Aberdeenshire, Great Britain.
According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the invention explains a "switching device comprises an electronic switch embedded within a downhole tool and an activator for remote switching of the electronic switch. ...
