Article: NASSAU COUNTY EXECUTIVE SUOZZI DELIVERS 'NO-COUNTY-PROPERTY-TAX-INCREASE' 2010 BUDGET

MINEOLA, N.Y., Sept. 15 -- The Nassau County Executive issued the following press release:

Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi today submitted his proposed 2010 Budget, and kept the promise he made last week to "freeze County taxes". The $2.6 billion budget will increase spending by a record low 0.5% (one/half of one-percent), with no increase in County taxes.

The proposed budget also reflects 700 fewer employees working for the County than a year ago, bringing the total count down to 8792, which is 1000 employees fewer than when Suozzi first took office.
