ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- Chen-Hung Chan, Jhongli, Taiwan, has developed a dead pixel real-time detection metho. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,589,770 on Sept. 15.

The patent has been assigned to Altek Corp., Hsinchu, Taiwan.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dead pixel real-time detection method for image applicable in a digital camera is provided.
