SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif., Sept. 16 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's U.S. Forest Service's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit issued the following press release:

The 20th Annual Kokanee Salmon Festival will take place October 3rd and 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the U.S. Forest Service Taylor Creek Visitor Center, 3 miles north of the City of South Lake Tahoe on California Highway 89. The timing of the festival seems good this year, as the Kokanee Salmon began appearing in Taylor Creek on Sept 13th. The spawning run should be in full-effect by early October.
