WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services issued the following press release:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas today announced a total of $1.2 million in grants for 13 organizations to support citizenship preparation programs for legal permanent residents (LPRs). This announcement falls on Constitution Day and Citizenship Day-established by Congress in 2004 to mark the anniversary of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution.
