SURPRISE, Ariz., Sept. 18 -- The city of Surprise issued the following news release:

Sophomores, juniors and seniors from Surprise and the Dysart Unified School District looking to grow their leadership skills are encouraged to register for the Second Annual Surprise Community Youth Leadership Summit for Teens.

The free one-day event is planned for Saturday, October 3, 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., at the new Communiversity @ Surprise, 15950 W. Civic Center Plaza.

Surprise Mayor Lyn Truitt will kick off the event, followed by a motivational guest speaker, and a series of interactive and educational sessions centered on leadership, profession, and community initiatives.
