ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 22 -- Russell Klehn and Euljoon Park, both of Valencia, Calif., Brett Schleicher of Bend, Ore., Reuben Westmoreland of Colfax, Calif., and Mark W. Kroll of Simi Valley, Calif., have developed an indirect mechanical medical therapy system. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,590,445 on Sept. 15.

The patent has been assigned to Pacesetter Inc., Sylmar, Calif.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device and methods for automatically evaluating one or more patient physiological parameters and, upon determination that certain therapies are indicated, delivering therapeutic mechanical stimulations to tissue of the patient. ...
