BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 21 -- The Louisiana Department of Transportion and Development issued the following press release:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $76 million at its Aug. 26 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $26,679,003.40, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, was the low bidder on the most expensive job let Aug. 26, a project in Terrebonne Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, installing a lift span bridge and related work to replace the Prospect Street Bridge.
