DETROIT, Sept. 23 -- The city of Detroit issued the following news release:

The City of Detroit Senior Citizens Department will hold a blanket drive for senior citizens on Thursday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center, located at 18100 Meyers Road at Curtis.

The Senior Citizens Department has arranged for four drop-off locations around the city to make it as convenient as possible for people to make blanket donations. NEW blankets of all sizes can be dropped off between October 1 and November 6 at any of the following locations:
