Good and evil do endless battle in Gilbert Park

There's no place like home.

For the 1,000 residents of Manitoba's largest subsidized housing project, Gilbert Park, that's both good and bad.

It made national headlines twice in the last four weeks after two shocking, alcohol-involved attacks on toddlers.

Gilbert Park made local headlines over the last decade as the province pumped millions of dollars into fixing up the place and adding social programs.

Resident John Klassen, who came to the rescue of the baby in last weekend's incident, said poverty brings a lot of problems to the whole area.
