WAKEFIELD, Mass., Sept. 22 -- The University of Vermont issued the following news release:
The University of Vermont women's hockey team was picked to finish seventh in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll. The league released the poll on Tuesday.
New Hampshire, the reigning Hockey East champions was tabbed as the favorite to win the conference again this year. The Wildcats received three first-place votes (coaches were not allowed to pick their own team) and 50 points. Boston College, who UNH beat out by five points for the conference title last year, was picked to finish second again this year, with 47 points and receiving three first-place votes as well.
