In addition to high SAT scores and solid grade point averages, Sonoma State University appears to have admission preferences for students who are wealthy and who have the qualification of white skin.

Despite the enactment of Proposition 209 in 1996, which prohibited the consideration of race in admissions decisions, public colleges and universities in California continue to enroll tens of thousands of African-American college students.

But a high level of racial diversity has no place at Sonoma State University, a publicly operated educational institution that is part of the 23-campus California State University system.
