This year the 62nd Cannes Film Festival chose the animated film Up from Disney/Pixar to headline the opening ceremonies, making it the first time any animated film has been chosen to open the prestigious film festival. There was another first at this year's Festival: the presence of the PGA International Committee (PGAIC).
On Saturday, May 16, the backdrop of the old port of Cannes provided the perfect setting for the first of hopefully many International Committee Cannes events. A cocktail reception was held on the terrace of the French Film Commission, with arriving guests greeted by Committee Vice Chair Bill Stuart and Chair Stu Levy, who started the party off with a gracious toast.
