It canbe difficult to bringbusinesses and unions to the same table without at least one issue creating acrimony between the groups. But that's been changing for the better of everyone, union heads and company executives said.
Labor-management councils in Central Pennsylvania have helped bridge that divide over the last 20 years, they said.
"It's brought parties together so people can focus on creating more op- portunities for workfor the companies and the workers," said Joe Leahey, vice president of G.M. McCrossin Inc., a Bellefonte, Centre County-based con- struction firm. The company worked on Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racetrack and Three Mile Island nuclear plant.
