I congratulate Dr. Dolan and colleagues for demonstrating the superiority of ultrasound-guided fascia iliaca block to a "double-pop" technique,1 and I appreciate the opportunity to ask a few questions regarding the figures and conclusions. First, although the line drawing depicting the fascia iliaca (figure IB) accurately shows this fascia investing the iliacus muscle and overlying the femoral nerve on the anteromedial surface of the muscle, the ultrasound image above (figure IA) has an arrow that appears to be pointing to the fascia running superficial to the femoral artery.
