ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- James P. Luther and Thomas Theuerkorn, both of Hickory, N.C., Hieu V. Tran of Charlotte, N.C., Micah C. Isenhour of Lincolnton, N.C., and Christopher P. Lewallen of Hudson, N.C., have developed a loopback device. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,596,293 on Sept. 29.

The patent has been assigned to Corning Cable Systems LLC, Hickory.
