GENEVA, Oct. 3 -- Kazuro Fukuda, Japan, has developed a filamentous fungus culture mixture having cellulose-decomposing activity.
The patent has been assigned to Asahi Breweries Ltd., Tokyo.
According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the invention relates to a "method for enzymatically saccharifying a cellulosic substance with extremely high efficiency, conveniently, and at low cost.
