GENEVA, Oct. 5 -- Sjoerd Daamen and Avelino Corma Camos, both of Spain, and Paul O'Connor, Netherlands, have developed a low total acid number bio-crude.
The patent has been assigned to KiOR Inc., Hoevelaken, Netherlands.
According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the invention aims to disclose a "pyrolysis product of a biomass material. This product, referred to as bio-crude, has a total acid number of less than 10, and is suitable for processing in stainless steel equipment.
