GENEVA, Oct. 5 -- Leonid S. Beitelman, J. Douglas Lavers and Christopher P. Curran, all from Canada, and Gote Tallback, Sweden, have developed a method and apparatus modulated electromagnetic stirring of metals at advanced stage of solidification.
The patent has been assigned to ABB Inc., Quebec.
According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, in the present invention a "method and apparatus for electromagnetic stirring of molten metals at an advanced stage of solidification, as may be used in continuous casting of steel billets and blooms, are disclosed.
