ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- Derek A. Ladd of Acushnet, Mass., Edmund A. Hebert of Mattapoisett, Mass., and Michael J. Sullivan of Barrington, R.I., have developed a multi-layer core golf ball. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,591,741 on Sept. 22.
The patent has been assigned to Acushnet Co., Fairhaven, Mass.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to an improved multi-layer golf ball displaying enhanced playing characteristics, including high speed, high launch, and low spin.
