CULLOWHEE, N.C., Oct. 7 -- Western Carolina University issued the following news release:

Five women and five men have been selected for Western Carolina University's 2009 Homecoming Court.

The court will be presented and the king and queen crowned during halftime activities at WCU's football game against The Citadel on Saturday, Oct. 17. The king and queen will be chosen through campuswide election.

Seeking the title of queen:

Victoria Burleson

A senior broadcast communications major from Burnsville, Burleson is being sponsored by Power 90.5, the broadcast service of WCU. She is a 2006 graduate of Mountain Heritage High School, and the daughter of Tammy and Steve Burleson of Burnsville.
