Semirara Mining Corp. and Benguet Corp. announced on Thursday that they plans to invest in a mining project in some portions of Sta. Cruz nickel project in Zambales.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Semirara said the two companies will explore, develop and mine selected portions of the 1,406-hectare Santa Cruz property owned by Benguet.

The agreement also covers the mining and sale of up to 200,000 metric tons of 2-percent high-grade nickel ore per year for a period of three years.
