Article: REP. HASTINGS LAUDS PASSAGE OF ADVANCED VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY ACT

WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Rep. Alcee. L. Hastings, D-Fla. (23rd CD), issued the following news release:

Today, Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-Miramar) voted in favor of H.R. 3246, the Advanced Vehicle Technology Act of 2009. The House passed H.R. 3246 by a vote of 312 to 114.

"It is critical that we support innovative methods for advanced vehicle manufacturing and reducing fuel consumption," said Hastings. "I applaud this legislation for focusing particularly on the development and research of materials and technologies as a way to address automotive and commercial vehicle emissions as well as the economy."
