AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 15 -- The city of Austin issued the following press release:
At its meeting on Oct. 15, 2009, the Austin City Council took the following action as part of its consent agenda:
* Authorized a professional planning services contract for completion of the City of Austin Comprehensive Plan. The new plan will focus on preserving and enhancing Austin's near-, immediate- and long-term quality of life. The key themes of the plan include growth and development, sustainability and climate change, environmental protection, neighborhood preservation, affordable housing, economic development and local and regional mobility.
