SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 16 -- The Santa Rosa City Manager issued the following news release:

On Wednesday October 7, 2009, the Santa Rosa Fire Department responded to two fires. One to a structure fire in a single family residence and shortly thereafter one to the Grateful Bagel located at 1015 4th Street.

The single family residence fire was a result of an unattended candle coming in contact with decorative materials in a second floor bedroom. Fortunately, this home was equipped with a residential fire sprinkler system. One fire sprinkler head activated in the bedroom where the fire started, containing the fire to that room.
