The Wonder Singer is actually two interwoven novels. Neither would be much on its own, but their symbiosis provides a colorful, non-linear exploration of artistic obsession, whether with one's own passion or with another's. In the case of protagonist Mark Lockwood, it's both. Lockwood is a hack writer who finally lands an assignment that promises creative fulfillment - ghosting the memoirs of legendary Spanish diva Mercé Casals.
