ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- Jin Young Sohn of Fullerton, Calif., Gyoung Il Cho of Seoul, South Korea, and Cheong Soo Seo of Seongnam, South Korea, have developed a compact image taking lens system with a lens-surfaced prism. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,605,988 on Oct. 20.
The patent has been assigned to Angstrom Inc., Seongnam.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A compact image taking lens system with a lens-surfaced prism of the present invention comprises a prism, an aperture stop, a first lens element, a second lens element, reflecting mirror surface, and image surface, optionally an infrared cut-off filter.
