ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- Mark D. Gucwa, Mayville, Mich., has developed lamp socket assemblies with axial terminals. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,604,506 on Oct. 20.
The patent has been assigned to Empire Electronics Inc., Troy, Mich.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Wedge bulb lamp socket assemblies with potted axial terminal members. The terminals are held in place by tab members in the blades until the potting material is added. Ramp members are provided in the socket bodies in order to facilitate insertion of the lamp bulbs ...
