ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 29 -- Chih-Chun Hsiao, Kaohsiung County, Taiwan, has developed a liquid crystal display. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,605,880 on Oct. 20.
The patent has been assigned to Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd., Taoyuan, Taiwan.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A liquid crystal display (LCD) including a backlight module, a LCD panel, a front frame, and a light strip is provided. The backlight module includes a back plate and a light guide plate (LGP), wherein the back plate has plural sidewalls and an opening opposite to one of the sidewalls.
