ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 29 -- Ronald Dean Robertson and George Edward Mac Ewen, both of Kansas City, Mo., have developed a process for manufacturing a tamper evident container lid. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,608,032 on Oct. 27.
The patent has been assigned to Huhtamaki Consumer Packaging Inc., DeSoto, Kan.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A tamper evident and resistant container lid of the present invention includes a lid body configured to cover the opening of a base container having a top rim and a skirt extending from the lid.
