AMS is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 AMS Minority Scholarships
The AMS Minority Scholarship Program is intended to encourage minority students, who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic/ Latino, American Indian/Alaska Native, and Black/African American students, to pursue careers in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologie sciences. The award is $3,000 for a nine-month period in the freshman year and an additional $3,000 for a nine-month period in the sophomore year, based on performance in the first year.
