Article: GSP + FACILITY ESSENTIAL FOR COUNTRY SAYS JVP

Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- The JVP charged yesterday that the government had not acted responsibly to retain the GSP+ tariff concessions for Sri Lankan exports to the European Union countries despite the importance of this trade facility to the country.

JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti told a news conference that the government had failed to adhere to international conventions and covenants as a pre-requisite to ask for the extension of this facility.
