New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- Aditya Birla Group company Grasim Industries on Thursday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 881.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.

The company had a net profit of Rs 562.9 crore in the same period last fiscal.

The figures are not comparable owing to sale of sponge iron business and consolidation of Idea Cellular Ltd as a joint venture company, Grasim Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
