Until recently, using the term "nonprofit" in conversation might evoke thoughts of chari- ties, hospitals, colleges, and churches - an accurate, but limited perception. In recent weeks, you might be met with comments about Acorn, the notorious and by no means emblematic mega- organization that has burrowed into campaign canvassing, census taking, housing assistance, job training and myriad other tasks paid for largely with government funds.
