GENEVA, Oct. 30 -- Masaya Kitazawa, Japan, has developed an elevator car door lock.
The patent has been assigned to Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Tokyo.
According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "An elevator car has a cam fixed to a door hanger for suspending a car door of type where it opens to one side, a stationary hook fixed to the door hanger, a first roller installed on the car and moved downward by being pressed by a cam when the door hanger is moved, a second roller installed on the car and moved upward when in contact with a landing vane when the first roller is moved downward, the landing vane being vertically installed at that ...
